Called around and choose RBC insurance through Aviva because it was least expensive. However, had a claim in November where we were rear-ended (no fault of ours). All three vehicles had Aviva insurance... we received phone calls at home and cell from Aviva looking for the other occupants (who caused the accident!) and leaving us messages regarding this claim and personal information!!!! We complained but it continued... we got a lawyer and it didn’t improve. Our health adjuster was ignorant and rude (we faxed paperwork and he stated “well that goes to Toronto... I’m in Halifax... do you want me to get in my car and drive there?!)... We were the victims (multiple injuries... deaths... etc) and our own insurance company was treating us like this!! We called their supervisor and requested a new adjustor - which was ignored. We phoned RBC and complained and were ignored. We went back to our lawyer and were suggested not only to sue the people responsible but also Aviva... insane that as a large company they treat their paying customers this way! Disgusting!!
Terrible customer service. Overpriced auto insurance rates. I cancelled my insurance policy because I found a cheaper rate elsewhere. I had to pay for the cancellation of my policy and after that, they still took my monthly charge out after cancelling. Stealing people’s money.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Worst company to get insurance with. I updated my credit card for both property and auto monthly deduction, they updated it for property but never updated for auto and kept charging the previous card and then cancelled my policy on payment after hours-long multiple calls, transfer from department to another and waiting on hold for hours. They asked me to pay the backlog once, which I did. Still, they never reinstated my policy and offered me a new one with double rate ..and still, my history is scarred by CANCELLATION DUE TO NON-PAYMENT which was actually CANCELLATION DUE TO NON-CHARGING but they don’t hold any responsibility for their lack of update on my provided account. Very improper and unprofessional .. I guess they don’t care about customers at all, all they think about is money-making ...worst experience
They charge me 420.00$ a month for insurance. I went to other companies for quotes and it was all in the 250.00-300.00$ mark... so I tried to cancel my insurance the day before it was set to renew (didn't know it auto-renews...), so they didn't answer and I sat on the phone for 2 hours waiting for a rep. By then I had to work, of course, they were closed for the weekend. So, Monday morning 8:30 am when they opened, I called to cancel... 308.00$ to cancel because they "insured" me for 3 days. They were rude, ignorant, and refused to send me my policy information and refused to let me speak to a supervisor. Absolutely will not be recommending them or going back to them. My 7 family members will also not be renewing with them. I recommend you do the same or Don't Even start with them. Nasty, nasty "people."
Aviva acquisition of RBC Canada ruined my RBC experience in 2 ways.
They increased my premiums and in return their customer service gave me attitude! Switching all my insurances to others is way to go!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I shared a car with my brother over TWO years ago. That car was a beater and eventually stopped working. I moved the insurance from that car, as I was the owner, to my new car. They told me my brother's name must be transferred with mine. At the time, it was a few hundred dollars over a year and they wouldn't budge on removing his name so I thought I had no choice but to agree. I DO NOT LET MY BROTHER DRIVE MY CAR. My mom refused to take him on as well. My brother is mentally ill and does not work. He has no money to provide to me for me paying his insurance. Now, my brother's premium has gone up magically to well over a $1000 a year even though he's only an OCCASIONAL driver on the policy and not a driver at all in real life. I did my research and found out that the Ontario Insurance Act provides for a way to exclude a driver under special circumstances which after speaking to various people, Aviva/RBC agreed to do. Not a month later, I got my "new" package and he has been added onto my policy. WITH NO EXPLANATION. Even better, my premium has gone up YET AGAIN!!! I'm in my early 20s and I am not made out of money. I called to find out what's happening. Apparently, my policy is under review with an underwriter AND the underwriters don't talk over the phone or e-mail. THEY DO NOT TALK TO THEIR CLIENTS. THEY JUST MESS AROUND WITH YOU. I got a letter in September saying my policy is going up, got a letter in October saying they have excluded my brother and it's coming down and NOW IT'S GOING BACK UP AGAIN. WHY? They can't come to the phone to explain. Regardless, stay away from them. I am looking for a new car insurance company.
After waiting for about 1h50m to speak to customer service , I found out that my insurance went up for no apparent reason !!!!
No claims for over 20 years and a clean record ....
Can someone explain why, cause hell I don't know ....
Well the increase wasn't much but still, it should be going down not up...
Well time to start looking elsewhere for my insurance needs
Horrible company to deal with. I didn't even sign up with them but a broker tried to put me through them even though I signed up with another company. (My current policy with the broker was cancelled and was no longer renewable through the company I had. Essentially, my current policy was no longer an option when the term ended, and I sought out another )
Long story short, they have harassed me for "unpaid time on risk" even though I showed proof of insurance. Threatened my record, claim to have submitted my name to a collections agency, and also claim to go after your "payment record" which means that they say you're someone who may not pay your rates and it could affect your rate with other companies.
I think a lot of it is scare tactics, but it goes to show what the company is like. Speaking nicely didn't help at all, and I've never been more frustrated with a company in my life. I'm a standard, average person who follows the rules and pays everything on time. This blew my mind! I hope others can avoid this experience by finding another company.
I've only been with this company for a month and a half my car payment is $137.97 and in this month and a half they have taken $426 dollars out of my bank account. Unauthorized payments. Then on the phone the representative said they may not be able to refund my money that they were unauthorized to take. I am livid. And if anyone needs insurance stay away from Sharp and Aviva Insurance!
I just got a renewal for my vehicle and it showed that the price has gone up by over 30$. I decided to give them a call before I start to look for another company. This lady from a customer service answers my call and the way she was talking to me was very unacceptable. She was being very rude and unhelpful. When I asked her why she was rude to me, she said that she is doing that because I am being rude to her!:) What a professional lady she was. When I inquired to speak to her manager, she said there is no way she can facilitate that for me and there is basically no one for me to complain about the “good service” she has provided for me!!! What a good company to have a business with! Would never recommend them to anyone!!!!
