WORST INSURANCE

Horrible customer service - long wait times on phones, lots of being switched around because they don't know what they are talking about, my advisor stopped responding to my emails and voicemails all together making it taking months to process a claim. Horrible Value - payout they offer is way less than value of car. Had a new car totalled by another driver, found not at fault, and still lost thousands of dollars. Disgusting that a multibillion dollar company is trying to ripe innocent people off. Claim was horrible - car accident in November and still haven't received my settlement check which they said was sent out weeks ago. Settlement value was horrible, way below value of the car - they admit to calculating the value in the lowest way possible. My advisor had no idea what they were talking about and would lie to me and would be corrected by someone else.
Noticed on my automatic billing from my credit card that I was double billed from Aviva insurance. I phoned them and wasted my time to find out that after having insurance with them for many years that now I have to pay ahead and that's what the double charge was for. So I had to phone them to find that out because there was no prior notification of such a thing. This is disgusting customer service practice.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I have been trying to get through to someone for 2 WEEKS. Every time I get through I am told that I need to call a different department. I am trying to find out why exactly I am not covered even when I was a victim in a HIT and RUN. I have a police report to even back it up, but apparently, because I couldn't get the insurance policy from the guy who HIT ME, I have to pay all of the damages out of pocket! Not to mention that I was sold the WRONG insurance policy when I originally signed up. Total nightmare, seems to me like they are going to try to send me from department to department until I give up. Horrible customer service.
Aviva admits liability for the rear end accident but will not pay for the past 5 years of medical pain treatments or future medical payments, pain and suffering. Their lawyer had the temerity to say Aviva won't charge me any fees if I walk away. I will walk away when they pay for medical treatments and pain and suffering. We will see what a court will decide.. Aviva has been sanctioned and fined $50,000 many times because they refuse to pay. See you in court
To date, I am still trying to chase them to get an answer with regards to my accident. They are not responsive and very unhelpful. I am yet to get an answer when they say I will get one, which always leaves me with doing the follow-up. The appraisal process was slow and delayed but no one could give me a reason why. The appraisal I finally received was incomplete and a waste of time. No rate is worth the service or competency I am receiving. I would like to say you pay for what you receive and yes they were cheaper than some of the other companies my broker put in front of me but with an almost 500.00 a month premium they are far from cheap.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I was hit on the 17th of October, 2017, and everything ran smoothly from there until we tried to settle our claim we couldn’t get a hold of anyone. We called 160+ times in 2 months and couldn’t get through to anyone. I am a 17 year old boy who needed a claim on my first car, and got completly screwed for 2 months until finally late january, 2018, we had our lawyer call our claims advisor and after 2 months of absolutely nothing, our lawyer left a voice mail, and we had the correct documents and responses within literally 7 minutes (calculated). Would never, ever recommend this insurance company to anyone. We are pretty sure they had our numbers saved and when they saw it was us calling, ignored us, and when our lawyer called, they s*** their pants. Will never let anyone I know insure with this company, worst of the worst, I would recommend any company except Aviva
Been a customer with AVIVA for 10 years, clean record and suddenly one speeding ticket (45 km over) and they've cancelled my policy! They really do suck and hope they're out of here!
I had a windshield replaced on one vehicle years before I owned the second. The second vehicle required a windshield replacement. They stated since I had a windshield replaced years ago under comprehensive that future windshields are no longer covered on all vehicles on my policy and my windshield deductible is 1,000. The man on the phone spoke poor English and was very condescending and rude.
After waiting for about 1h50m to speak to customer service , I found out that my insurance went up for no apparent reason !!!!
No claims for over 20 years and a clean record ....
Can someone explain why, cause hell I don't know ....
Well the increase wasn't much but still, it should be going down not up...
Well time to start looking elsewhere for my insurance needs

Longtime RBC insurance customer, absolutely loved them, very fast and responsive. As soon as AVIVA started underwriting for them that all changed. In July of 2017, I was auto-renewed by RBC/AVIVA Without my consent or notification. AVIVA CANCELLED my comprehensive coverage on 2 of my 4 vehicles. One of these was a lease and I am legally obligated to maintain comp coverage. It wasn't until I was denied coverage at a speedy auto glass in FEB 2018 that I was made aware I had no coverage for glass, theft auto hail etc... on 2 cars. Thankfully no harm to me, but I can even begin to imagine if either my leased Acura or diesel pickup without comp coverage were stolen. AVOID AVIVA, sorry RBC, I'll come back if you ditch AVIVA.
