Dishonest practice with quotes

by 51 year old customer on May 24, 2016
1.5 out of 5 stars

Liars, dishonest liars. I got a quote directly on their website that satisfied me. But then, when I called to wrap up everything and close the deal, they instead gave me a different final quote that was almost 30% higher, despite doing no change whatsoever to the information given online. Same everything, nothing different, only the quote was and by a landslide. I couldn't believe it and said there had to be a mistake somewhere. The sales agent, then a customer service rep, both couldn't give me a valid reason that explained the difference; only that the online quote was a "general idea", not the real thing. That is plain dishonest practice, a teasing quote that was just so far from what they wanted to charge me.

This company treats you like you are nothing just so they dont have to pay you. They cancelled my friends policy claiming how there was insufficient evidence guven but that it on their own judgement. The way they treated my friend is disgusting and questions their ability to examine human emotion. They need to stop ruining lifes everywhere and man up.

..BEWARE!!!

I was seriously injured in 2009 by a driver who t-boned me at a red light, Aviva insurance has been terrible from day 1 failing to provide help or support that was not forced at the hands of a lawyer.
Aviva is a disgrace to the insurance industry and confirms Canada as a 3rd world country of misfits.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Worst Service

I cancelled my auto insurance with them. The representative at the broker's office told me that I'll get some refund. When I called them, they told me they have penalized me to cancel the insurance. Instead of refund, I owe them some money. If there was a penalty to cancel the insurance, why the representative did not educate me on that. The customer service was the worst. They don't listen to their clients at all.

Save your money!

If there was a no stars review option I would have put that ... They are the most scamming cons I have ever delt with for my car insurance and my parents for their house and car ... Now where do I begin... I pay 113.99 for my not brand new car (06) for only plpd coverage cause they wanted me to pay around $200 when I've never been in an accident nor missed a payment and have went through excel (driving course) in my teens that costed just under $700 for them to tell me it only saves me $10 on my insurance ... When all of my friends pay 79-120 for half to full coverage. then they canceled my insurance on me and want me to pay $210 to open it back up so I don't have it on my record because I switched banks when I was paying my payments in one of their branches buildings and they gave me a deadline to pay my payment and sure enough I did and they took my money and still closed my insurance because I didn't have my new banking stuff for them when it wasn't going through my old bank in the first place.. Aviva works on prolonging claims two so they can throw the case out and not have to pay anything back to anyone ..... My parents garage fell down due to snow and the foundation wasn't up to building codes so they had to build a complete new one which was fine till they told my dad that he had to pay everything out of pocket and hey would reimburse them for the money ... Now MOST people don't have that kind of money laying around to rebuild all by themselves but my family is awesome and supports each other and my uncles were able to lend him the money , so my dad borrowed $30000 to put a new foundation down and sure enough once it was done they told my dad I'm sorry but you have to put walls and a roof up first before we can release anymoney so he got mad but when to friends to borrow more money to put walls and a roof on and this was the real icing on top as soon as everything was built they released enough money that covered the walls and roof but not foundation cause they told him he needed to show a permit of the old foundation and building so my dad went and talked to inspectors that worked these are for years and they told him that permits are only held for 7 years due to changes of policy's but they remember when the former owner had the building built and was able to track it down cause of previous owners wife , but as soon as my father said he had it Aviva told my Father that they wouldn't pay it cause there was no bylaw in the first place that covers that when they told us from the start there was and that's what their paying extra money for and high rates in paper work the whole 16 years they have lived there. So now my Fathers hired a lawyer and is taking them to court ........ Either which way we had a friend who worked for them and his job through them was to try and scam money out of elders and he had to quit cause it was killing him and eating away at him inside with guilt ....... Stay away from their scams they’re one of the worst company’s i have ever dealt with and heard about .... They only want your money.

should be minus 5

I had purchased auto insurance with NEW CAR REPLACEMENT. My neighbour's tree fell on my car, 1st appraiser came out and the estimate needed roof reconstructed, plus my windshield and frame separated from the roof. The car is literally not safe on the road. Here is the thing, I had left message after message, finally, I reached another person, they claim that they had called me back and left messages, I had asked them when? She changes the conversation then finally she just gave me the date, and I asked what number did they call me? She couldn't provide to me then she had said they will send another appraiser out to give 2nd opinion. I called to collision centre, there was NO 2nd appraiser, I had many professional body shops came out and no one thinks the car would be safe on the road. They are a bunch of dishonest people. For over 39 years of driving, never caused any accident, this sucks

Worse Insurance company

by Fatima on Apr 7, 2016
1 out of 5 stars

If there was an option for no stars at all I would have put that. I got into an accident in January of 2013, I have sustained neurological/muscular injuries that are permanent (from the accident, that is confirmed by all the specialists I saw) and every time a specialist submits a treatment plan, they refuse!!! On top of the emotional/physical stress from the accident I had to deal with the stress of them refusing everything. They are unreasonable people to deal with, very unprofessional. I would recommend anyone but them.

Worst run around company

by Pissed off client on Apr 6, 2016

My wife and I have had insurance with Aviva for only 6 weeks so far, and they are trying to tell us that we need to pay them 1500$ for 4 months ahead of time. I agreed on a certain price and they emailed me a bill saying 1 double payment and after that, it would be the regular agreed price. Had the agreed amount in my bank account waiting for them to withdraw at any time. I took my wife out for our anniversary, had a 100$ dinner bill. I tried to debt it thinking I had money in my account. But they seemed to have taken twice as much as my regular premium again. Without my knowledge of that, I had to call my mother to borrow money to pay for my dinner. All because they wanted to take out 4 months worth of premium in 1 month. Then I agreed to a 12-month term payment of a certain amount, not to mention they quoted me on and sent papers on my billing schedule in the mail and online. They told me that one of the brokerage employees didn't ask the manager if she could do that, but then I did an online quote and then called and gave another employee all my information. I have a clean driving record. Nothing at all, not even a ticket. The man on the phone told me that it was one payment a month not 2 double payments for 2 months in a row. And as of right now they sent me a different email with different prices. They don't know what they're doing when it comes to honouring 1 price. They're a headache and give too many runarounds. I'm not buying you a steak dinner, I'm trying to insure my vehicles!

InsuranceCo gives a damn to it

by Voiceless on Mar 31, 2016

We can write on and on, but insurance company gives a damn to it...mafia supported by political lobby. The only solution if public has a representative on when insurance act is made in effect. Public representation on insurance policy making is the only solution. We can restrict the following anomalies like: a) No at-fault forgiveness for a new driver for six years. b) Insurance record affected for six years irrespective of nature of the accidents...even as minor as a dent to the car...The insurance premium will skyrocket if you try to move out of your current insurance provider even if you are covered for first fault forgiveness. c) No control on the premium increase.15% to 200% increase as sighted in this comments blog. d) Start your own petition online and let people favour it Ontario-wide/ Canada-wide.

Bad service

The worse auto insurance ever, trust me. Please, guys, do your research before signing up.I would rather pay more and be treated with dignity and respect. Rude customer service reps and the underwriters are bullies and break all the rules hoping you would not challenge them.
