The Aviva agent was slow to return calls, kept passing the buck to the adjuster and refused to address our concerns. It has been such a horrible experience for us our insurance agent is never selling policies by this company again. We have never felt more disrespected by a company
I got rear ended and they claimed that it was my fault because my turn signal was on. I was completely in my lane and got hit by someone who was behind me in my lane. Yet, they denied service saying they can't hold the other party responsible. My car is destroyed and my neck is in a very stressed condition. Yet they didn't even care to investigate. They just left a voice mail. Horrible, horrible horrible insurance company. Stay as far away as you possibly could!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Not sure why all the bad comments on here.
I had a great experience with a hit and run. No problem getting coverage or a rental. the process was quick and painless.
I have even checked elsewhere and Aviva still the way to go.
Not going to be leaving them anytime soon.
I have had two claims on Aviva and have been very pleased with their service. Both were auto accidents and I was deemed " not at fault " one vehicle was a write-off, and they paid out quickly and at a very fair price. The second was about $4000. damage, and they dealt with it quickly. The adjusters have all been professional, courteous, and understanding. My experiences have been very positive ,pleasant , and totally without stress. I would recommend them any day of the week.
In October 2014 (nearly 5 months ago) my 11 yr old daughter and I were in a rear end collision. Both receiving injuries! I have been waiting and struggling and fighting for my section B, loss of wages benefits. Granted my particular claim is a little more difficult because I am self employed. I have/had 16 clients. I was replaced by 4 in the first 2 weeks.... Because I work "under the table" proving my income has become VERY diffe and stressful. I managed to get just 6 of my original 16 clients to provide letters for the insurance adjuster. This was not enough. I then had 5 of those 6 provide audio recorded statement to a private investigator backing up their letters, as to what I so, and how much they pay me. Since the accident MOST of my clients have replaced me, some because of the lwngth of time i have been off, and some because i harrassed them trying to get them to contact my adjuster. So, here I am, still not back to work almost 5 months after the accident. Its likely I won't have any clients to return to
Facing eviction, credit going down the tubes, unable to pay ANY bills, visiting the food bank just to get by, with a child. My adjuster has been notified of this, they do not care. My benefits still have not been paid. We will lose EVERYTHING, because someone else used my rear bumper as his personal breaking device, and Aviva does not care about the clients who hired them. This is a service I PAY for.... Well, as you may assume, I am canceling my insurance policy.
I understand my situation is more "complicated", but what do they want from me. I tried EVERYTHING to get my client's to cooperate with the company. Provided letters, provided interviews from 1/3 of my client's. The clients don't care, it's not their problem, they don't have the time to take from their busy schedules to talk to an insurance company, for services that I am no longer providing for them.
I really don't know where all these bad reviews are coming from. We've had Aviva home and auto coverage for three years now and they are way better than anything else out there. We had one small auto claim last year and everything went smoothly. The price on the home and auto is much better than TD (who we were with before on their special "group plan"). We won't be changing anytime soon.
We have a $13000 claim for windstorm damage, and have been dealing with claims and ombudsman office at Aviva Elite for 10 months. Every expert who has inspected the RV - except Aviva's appraiser - agrees the damage is from outside impact and should be a covered claim. Aviva's appraiser blames the manufacturer for a defect of some kind!
Finally 2 months ago they agreed to partial coverage. We will need to go to mediation on the balance.
So, we got 2 estimates for repairing the partial coverage they agreed too - guess what, here we are 2 months later pushing for approval on the estimates so we can get the work done.
Terrible customer service! They have tried everything imaginable to delay and deny the claim.
We would rate them less than 1 star if we could.
Stay away from Aviva coverage on your RV's
Some idiot put earthquake and sewer back up riders on my travel trailer policy. I caught it and my agent took the riders off. Pretty unethical to me.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Horrendous insurance company. The customer support spoke nothing but incomprehensible, nonsensical gibberish which, roughly translated, consisted of excuses for their terrible and illogical behaviour. They also bill me without warning and long before they're supposed to, and on top of that, they constantly find new ways to, again, rip me off. My rate spiked for no reason at all, for starters. Do yourself a favour and avoid Aviva at all costs.
This insurance is pathetic. It might be cheap, but it's not worth a penny. Having to deal with a claim is going to leave me grey haired and stressed out. The claim agents never answer the phone, never call back and never reply to emails. Even the managers are the same. Waiting for adjuster to estimate the damages is another story, I honestly don't know what kind of incompetent people work there.
Again, stay away from Aviva, I know I will. Better to pay more, but have a piece of mind.
