in my first claim ever after being 17 years customer, I am on the phone for 45 minutes with the worst service ever you could have with any company. I got hit in a parking lot not my mistake at all and they will increase my insurance payment if they fixed the car. complete.....off.
simply don't do business with them. I will walk away in the first opportunity.
RBC/Aviva (AVIVA is awful), they send me an Application Form for auto Insurance even though I have been with RBC for 10 years. Their instructions on the form said Do Not Fill out section 2,7,8,10 and 12, so I didn't. They come back and said I did not fill out section 2 and need to resend. By then it was expired. Try calling and Good Luck, they will not pass you to a manager. Now they say it will take 4 weeks. Worst I have ever been treated. Looking elsewhere.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Was rear ended almost five months ago and still have not received payment. They allowed me a rental car but only for a very short time. I have left numerous messages and called at least once a day and have not gotten any response. They are by far the worst insurance company i have ever had to deal with.
All the reviews below are true. I've been an RBC customer for 5 years and always had great customer service with no issues. Now that Aviva has taken over, I've encountered nothing but problems.... adjusters taking an unreasonable amount of time to return calls IF AT ALL, receiving a low ball offer on the replacement of my car and barely budging once I submitted a second appraisal that I paid for out of pocket, disorganization and neglect right from the start of the claim process to now where I am still fighting with them 3 months later to get a fair evaluation. Aviva Insurance is widely known for their unfair practices and finding any way to get out of their contractual obligations. I don't know how they sleep at night, scamming hard-working people out of what they are entitled to after paying insurance premiums for so many years. AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!
I have recently filed a claim with Aviva and I have spent the last 3 months trying to get my claim finalized. With the later 2 months of those 3 months going back and forth with Aviva, claim rep advised verbally and through numerous emails that she would cover my claim in full, reimburse me for any invoice I submitted and when it comes down to the crunch she lies, renege's on her previous emails, gives threatening innuendo's and when I question it with a supervisor, I am told that they have over indemnified me in regards to my claim and that I am not entitled to what I was advised to by said Claims Department. I have many products with Aviva and needless to say they will be losing me as a customer as soon as I am able to find an alternate insurance provider.
To say the least, AVIVA, is not a reputable Company and I would NEVER RECOMMEND their services for anything.
Moved to the states couple of weeks ago and informed them about the move. And I told them that I would get insurance from the states and will cancel their insurance as it was time for renewal of the contract and I didn't see a reason to renew it. Yet, they renewed it automatically with a rate hike without getting my approval and got the money from my bank account with the new rate that I didn't approve just before the renewal date. The date I was planning to cancel while checking my bank account, I was shocked when I realized that they renewed it and got first month taken from my bank account without approval.
Tamer
Honestly, the worst and most deceptive company on the face of the Earth. Obviously, an insurance agent has to do whatever to benefit his company but they have handled my case in such a way that is disgusting and disrespectful. I personally feel like they will do anything to cut their costs even if it affects the consumer in their everyday life. They do not care whatsoever about the claimant and I feel like they are the most rude people that I have dealt with and would love to find a new company. Be careful and mindful on what company you go to and how they will treat at your own time of need.
Dealing with Smart Coverage Insurance Brokers was one of the worst decision I ever made.
They were not bad to deal with when it was time to set up policy and everything was done on one call. The broker however lacked knowledge about auto insurance and neglected to point out a lot of critical information which would've impacted my decision.
When it came to cancelling the policy, I was given a very hard time. Twice I called and requested to speak with a manager and was advised that there's no manager in office who can take a call. I am glad I ended up cancelling policy as employees were very incompetent and would not trust them with my insurance and claims. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Thank you Aviva for NOT fixing the mechanical issues present in my vehicle immediately after receiving my car back from your partner garage. It's always a nice feeling getting back into a car after a fairly minor accident to the smell of burning plastic and noises from the engine bay. It's an even nicer feeling being told that they will not be covered by my insurance policy. I guess that's what I can expect my first claim in over 8 years with 3 vehicles insured. Time to shop for a new insurance company
High premium rates. Mine went up and up again over the past two years. When I asked why, the answer was very vague, rude, aggressive.
No "forgiveness" on the first claim.
Poor customer service; lacking knowledge about the product in question.
Beware if you have a claim, you will be assigned an Adjuster who is not in your city; you will need to pay for long distance calls! Actually, don't worry, they do not answer the phone anyway!
