Very Slow Telephone

Cancelled my policy with no notification... It is 2021 make a system that properly notifies customers via email or SMS to mobile # on file. Mailing out invoices to the wrong address is exactly why this happened. Also, the lack of moral ethics in BelairDirect to cancel any policy with a customer during a global pandemic is absolutely shameful.
After phoning and speaking with an agent I received a quote. Needed to speak to the agent so sent her an email, not to a general email at the company, but to her personal email at the company. Never got a response. Went with another company.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
It used to be a pleasure to deal with Belair's call centre. Staff were knowledgeable and gave good service. In the last two years however, it has deteriorated terribly. Staff have little insurance knowledge, or interest in service, and just want to fill in blanks.
Filing a complaint is no good either because that just results in rude harassing telephone calls from the complaints department.
I have found a local broker who provides good personal service and the rates are actually cheaper.
Was with them for awhile. Got in an accident. My claims person was impossible to get a hold of to begin with. Took weeks to finally learn it was in a shop. Then it was returned with ONLY cosmetic work done. There was damage that was not cosmetic. Still battling with them on it. Never again
Their contact centre people are terrible! Every time you called them they don't know anything. They keep telling you we will call back and nobody calls you back. 4 times I called them they keep transferring here and there and when I asked to speak to their supervisor they said they are not available. I mean are you guys crazy if you don't know anything I asked to escalate then they don't have a manager available... What the hell you guys are getting paid for. The worst experience with call centre representatives. The last time I spoke to a lady Julie who in return started shouting I was asking her something else she does not understand English she was replying something else.
After getting hit by a car, that didn't stay for the accident. They jerked me around so much, asked the same questions 4 times. Had me move my car to the shop on multiple occasions because "they didn't have a chance to inspect it the first time". Wouldn't recommend them, if they were the last insurance company around.
I simply cannot come to understand why the record of someone in my household should affect me. Belair was the only quote I could afford due to covid and refused to take me because of someone else's driving record. I'm appalled. Do they not want the business? There is nothing wrong with my driving and it's completely unfair. Guess I won't be driving anytime soon or getting to my job.
I filled out the online form to buy car insurance today
and when I finished gave me a quote quickly. When I called to confirm and buy a telephone operator could hardly speak English and I am fluently bilingual.
She said she had to ask the same questions again and the date she had told me for a claim I reported more than 4 years ago was somehow wrong according to her but it wasn't on the form I filled out an hour earlier so she said based on changing the date of that claim my premium would increase by $47 per month WHAT A JOKE AND POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER HAD
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
Here is my story: I was planning to move to a NEW place in 15 days after buying a car. Before signing their insurance, the quote they gave me on my NEW address was $230. Whereas another insurer said $250 for my new address - that's why I chose Belair.
But when I signed the contract and after 15 days asked them to change my address to the NEW one - they charged $309 instead. Almost $1000 annual difference. Then I had to pay an almost $300 cancellation fee to transfer to another insurer.
Please don't be fooled by them - they are trash!

I called to add a vehicle to my present insurance company. It seems they don't want to deal with customers except through the internet. Tough to do if you don't have access to the internet.
After a long wait, I spoke to an agent who did not speak clearly and who did not really seem to know very much about adding a vehicle to my present insurance.
After 48 minutes I lost contact. I am going to be looking for another insurer...
