Policy coverage was deceiving

I had my basement flooded. Day four after flood and claim and can not reach anybody. Nobody came or did anything so I started to renovate myself as while house started to stink...
Would not cover due to outside water coming in through a crack in foundation. After 10 years with TD, it still was refused. Not worth hiring a lawyer or fighting in small claims court. They need to be sued on a class action basis and maybe straighten up.
My parents have a basement water leak that was assessed by the insurance. The adjuster, who came to their home, stated that they would take care of it and approve it. Not sure if he is talking about fixing it 5 years down the road. He has got to be the worst adjuster ever. Not only have my parents left numerous voice messages, they have also left emails for him to follow up to see what is happening with the timeline. He doesn't even reply back to any messages. He is missing in action. I work in health care and have to deal with adjusters. They are the worst professionals ever. They have no professionalism and no common sense. They lack morals and etiquette. I am a few days away from speaking to the manager at TD insurance and making a big issue about their lack of professionalism. We all live busy lives. Being busy is just an excuse for them. The adjuster just lacks credibility. I believe what goes around comes around. Stay away from these crooks.
Had a basement leak. They were fantastic to send somebody out that night to help get cleaned. Now the horrific truth!! The restoration company does nothing after the first night, leaves their equipment until convenient for them to pick it up, but charges you a daily rate. Meanwhile, TD mentioned nothing about any charge, which for us was almost $2,000. Three weeks later after doing nothing past the first night but charging you, we get a letter from TD Insurance that the damage is not covered and their file is closed. Don't understand how they came to this conclusion because they did nothing. We hired contractors on our own that are working on identifying the leak. TD Insurance nor their restoration company do anything to help figure out the problem - bad enough they are useless after the first night, worse that they kick you onto the streets on your own after they have happily taken our premium payments for 18 years, and never had any other claim. Best advice - don't use TD Insurance and find a company that is reliable and is not in the business of just money collecting, but rather provides a service for what you pay for!!
They were so nasty to us and never called us back. After a few days they had part of basement cleaned up and the other part to stay wet ,it created mold.I had to pay a company to clean the mold. Now the clean up company has my contents which they have not cleaned, asked me to pick it up.I would like an account of what the insurance paid them and they will not call me back. What should I do?
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
RUN, don't walk away from TD Insurance (...and any of its versions)! If you think TD Insurance comes through for you and is in your corner, you're very much mistaken. I learned this the hard way. TD Insurance takes care of #1 - and that's NOT you. Heed this warning folks and I suggest warning your family, friends and coworkers about TD Insurance as well. One last bit of advice, before selecting an insurance company, be clear on the coverage amount you have if there's a water/sewer backup.
Found a leak in our basement bathroom, immediately called TD insurance to start a claim as we did not know the cause or the extent of the damage. Turns out that the leak is from an improperly installed drain pipe on the tub drain from renovations done on the home prior to us purchasing it. Our claim has been denied on the basis that faulty installations are not covered. I can understand the repair part of the job. I have to fix that-that's a given. But what about the damage caused? We are in the process of selling our home and we made it very clear at the beginning of all this we needed it expedited quickly. It as taken three weeks to get ANY kind of answer from TD Insurance. The worst part? I am TD staff! I know the company I work for treats its customers better than this-or so I thought. This has put me in a very awkward position with my employer. But I am a customer like everyone else, and I have the right to complain about poor service too.

I purchased an “enhanced” home insurance coverage with “extended” water damage. I never had a claim before. Due to heavy rains, water entered into the basement causing molds. TD sent their contractor from First Onsite to conspire with them as he is getting paid by TD. They denied my claim due to “gradual” damage, which is their excuse for every claim to escape from paying for damages. TD is a public company, so I got rid of my shares right away due to their unethical business practices. No wonder they are being investigated for money laundering. Do not use TD for anything. Evidently it was not gradual, as we sleep and work in the basement. They are deceitful. I have never seen the exclusion items, which essentially was a tactic to never pay for damages prior to purchasing home and car insurance from them.
