Everything is fine until you have a claim. Unable to speak to anyone, no follow-ups, running after the money they owe us, ghosting us after complaints and outright lying to us that they did not receive documents from a month ago. Overall very stressful and frustrating to say the least. We have been good clients for over 10 years but will never go back. Still waiting on our claim though…
They suddenly increased my home insurance by 40% without reasonable explanation, I am 13 year loyal client, without any claim for so many years, the renewal notice showed their raise of premium for this year is 40% higher than last year. I called and questioned the agent, the agent was not able to give me a good explanation, and the attitude is really rude. I chose to cancel the policy with TD Insurance, recommend you to do the same thing too.
So I had several questions regarding my homeowner insurance. Like many of you, I also had little idea of what I'm paying to my insurance and I wanted to know a little bit more in that regard. I talked to Ziauddin (if that's even his real name) on March 19, 2022, at 12:49 pm. He was rude and not helpful at all. I explained that it'll be me and my wife here at the house and I was trying to gather all the information for the future in case of an emergency. While I explained that to him, he kept ignoring my question and trying to revert it to if I want to file a claim at the moment. I respectively told him I just want to know for what I'm paying and he continues to tell me vague answers. He claimed to pull up 62 pages and when I asked what damage is specifically included, he repeatedly told me if it's in the 62 pages, it's in the 62 pages. I do understand that he doesn't want to read it but that eventually became his answer to everything I asked. He should have somewhat knowledge of the standard policy. After all that, I asked if he can connect me to another associate or his supervisor, and when he heard supervisor, he immediately said "NO". I asked him again and he said he doesn't know if there's anyone there. He told me he is not sure if there is a supervisor. He put me through a line but never got picked up.
TD, I hope that you would re-train him not only on the standard understanding of homeowner policy but on professionalism as well. He requires a lot of training in customer service for he is not polite and when he received a little bit more work, his answers were reverting the work back at the customer. Please review the call at 12:49 pm on March 19, 2022, with Ziauddin ( if that's his name).
Honestly, I would give this a zero star if I can but one is the lowest I can give.
At the moment, I'm seriously thinking about changing my homeowner insurance. And I wouldn't mind if I have to pay more as long as I can get the details I needed.
My worst experience in many years. TD was slow, made large errors and repeated them, had long wait times and I was cut off twice during long waits. I lost count of how many apologies I received for incorrect information. Cut the grief and use a broker. When I did this I received excellent service and a lower premium for an identical cover. It's a big relief to be free of TD...
I sent my renewal to this company via online banking and they can't find it! I am a teacher and am accustomed to professional service. I have had insurance with these people for over 20 years and will definitely CANCEL my policy. No one knows what they are doing on the phone.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
Had to make a claim due to a loss assessment at my condo less than a month after moving in. When I purchased my insurance I specifically noted I wanted protection from my condo board's reserve fund in case of any type of emergency. Was assured I would be covered.
When I did make the claim, feeling good about myself for opting for the more expensive coverage and peace of mind - was told flat out that because it's a maintenance issue, it will not be covered. Even though it's a safety hazard... even though it's a common element... even though I specifically asked to be protected from this situation.
The person "helping" me, did nothing.
Awful company, awful bank, terrible services, and bad customer service.
Worst employees work here, they don’t understand why it is important to do your job correctly. My home insurance was cancelled twice because of their mistakes. Some customer service agents are helpful and try their best but some are just terrible at their jobs. I had to call various times during the week just to make sure I still had home insurance and they would process things right. Terrible company.
Absolutely horrible Customer Service, I have been trying to resolve an issue since Feb. 17th 2021 and today it's March 2nd 2021 and I have been calling everyday to clear up yearly payment for my unit. Everytime a new rep. comes on he/she has no idea what the problem is and where my payment went, even though my bank statement shows it's been paid to TD Ins. But the Staff have *NO Idea where it went. Like come on TD you can do better than this. No one answers your phones this silly music played on for 27 mins. till I finally had to hang up. The worst customer service - Ever!
I received my home policy renewal last November and noticed TD started charging monthly installment fees. I called right-away to switch over to annual but it was too close to the first installment (which was one-month prior to the start of term). Agent switched the balance to annual for the next payment date. Over time I did not see the annual payment charge and my online account access was denied. Called them today and had to talk to 5 people. I was told their system did not process the annual payment because they switched the payment method and the system put my policy into delinquent. Too bad no one from TD contacted me and they also locked my online access at the same time. The 5th person told me they contacted me BY MAIL :( and of course, it did not arrive.

Absolutely a waste of time and very rude. Explained the house insurance we had ended on the 17th of the month, and they set the new insurance with them to start on the 20th, leaving a 3-day gap. Once they realized they made an error they cancelled the insurance policy citing a breach of internal policy, never taking accountability for the mistake they made.
