Overcharged and no refund

Had to make a claim due to a loss assessment at my condo less than a month after moving in. When I purchased my insurance I specifically noted I wanted protection from my condo board's reserve fund in case of any type of emergency. Was assured I would be covered.
When I did make the claim, feeling good about myself for opting for the more expensive coverage and peace of mind - was told flat out that because it's a maintenance issue, it will not be covered. Even though it's a safety hazard... even though it's a common element... even though I specifically asked to be protected from this situation.
The person "helping" me, did nothing.
Awful company, awful bank, terrible services, and bad customer service.
TD Employees are trained to only say "I'm sorry" without offering anything else to customers, like myself, who after 18 years of paying claims was bounced around from incompetent agent to agent. Even when I reached their Customer Care department, and assured I would no longer have to wait WEEKS for a response, I waited WEEKS between each call. If you like being placed on holds, never getting an agent to pick up the phone, your emails ignored and the most frustrating claims adjusters, this is the company for you. I have never been treated worse or spent so much time trying to get a claim resolved like I have with TD. I am moving all my business elsewhere.
Poor customer service and very poor risk assessment practice. I made substantial improvements to my home reducing risk profile and increasing safety but TD doesn't want to lower my premiums. During signup, they said premiums will be lower after upgrades but the reality is completely different!
Worst employees work here, they don’t understand why it is important to do your job correctly. My home insurance was cancelled twice because of their mistakes. Some customer service agents are helpful and try their best but some are just terrible at their jobs. I had to call various times during the week just to make sure I still had home insurance and they would process things right. Terrible company.
Absolutely horrible Customer Service, I have been trying to resolve an issue since Feb. 17th 2021 and today it's March 2nd 2021 and I have been calling everyday to clear up yearly payment for my unit. Everytime a new rep. comes on he/she has no idea what the problem is and where my payment went, even though my bank statement shows it's been paid to TD Ins. But the Staff have *NO Idea where it went. Like come on TD you can do better than this. No one answers your phones this silly music played on for 27 mins. till I finally had to hang up. The worst customer service - Ever!
Conned me into signing up, a few months later almost doubled my home rate
Been an Auto member for over 2 years now. Decided to ask for an updated house policy this time at renewal. They gave me a very competitive rate which overall matched what I was paying elsewhere. A few months in they decided to do a house inspection and then took another few months after that. Then decided I need to pay almost twice what they originally quoted! I have to switch back at huge change in premium, I'm now out about $500 - $800 due to this. Do not use TD home insurance or trust the rate they give you!
1) I got locked out of my TD account because they require 2-step verification but I got a new phone and there were zero methods to use another login option
2) When I called to get the access they said my card had expired but realized I'd never been sent a new one because the person who put my address input it wrong... so they said the only way I could get access was to go into a branch in person
3) When I went to the branch in person, they gave me a new access card but completely screwed up the process so the new card wasn't linked to my account so I had to call the help center AGAIN
4) The agent said she would send an inquiry to the tech team but said they would have no way to contact me when they could link my access card so what the hell was even the point. Instead, she just gave me a username and password so no my account doesn't even be logged in with the access card so I don't even need one
Stupidest experience of my life. Not worth the hassle.
I received my home policy renewal last November and noticed TD started charging monthly installment fees. I called right-away to switch over to annual but it was too close to the first installment (which was one-month prior to the start of term). Agent switched the balance to annual for the next payment date. Over time I did not see the annual payment charge and my online account access was denied. Called them today and had to talk to 5 people. I was told their system did not process the annual payment because they switched the payment method and the system put my policy into delinquent. Too bad no one from TD contacted me and they also locked my online access at the same time. The 5th person told me they contacted me BY MAIL :( and of course, it did not arrive.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
I had a minor claim and my TD insurance went up over $500.00 a year and has kept going up significantly. I even changed my deductible and a few other things to keep the rates as low as I can but continued to pay over $2000.00 a year.
Then I had a break-in and couldn't even do a claim. My $3000.00 bike was stolen and TD only covers $500.00 for your bike maximum no matter what it is worth. So we didn't even do the claim.
I called them at the end of September to explain we would need less than 2 months' coverage. So after the 2 months, I see a final payment of $199.15. I call and it cannot be changed or reversed and is the cancellation fee...

They took my one year premium on Mar 3 2021 and cancelled my policy on Mar 4 2021 due to nonpayment and did not refund the money I paid. Then they charged my credit card extra one year premium on Mar 31 2021 to reinstate the policy and claimed they have not received any payment on Apr 7 2021. Once I went to my bank to dispute the charge, they immediately said they received the one year premium and then cancelled the policy again, charged me over 500 dollars before refund, in extra to the premiums I have paid Upto the date. Crooks. Avoid at all costs!
