I had insurance with TD for over two years. My credit card company changed all credit card numbers. Instead of contacting me, they cancelled my home insurance. When I called and explained the situation to them they bluntly refused me.
Please don't buy insurance, you will have the worst nightmare in your life. I had insurance with them for 6 years and then when I moved to new property clearly stated to cancel the old one. They didn't cancel and kept charging me for my old property which I never owned. They asked me to send the documents, creating a hassle for the mistake which you didn't make. When I called they said they never received documents from you. Bunch of scammers trying to steal the money. I decided to move on to the next one. Please stay away from them.
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
I had a small claim due to storm damage. The first advisor told us to proceed which repairs, which we did.
We were then given a second advisor who had the damage assessed at the same $$ our deductible and asked for invoices for the work complete.
A third advisor then just tried to close things out with their estimate vs actual invoices.
Confusing and frustrating, time for a switch
Had a claim. I was told 3rd party will come for an estimate. Waited for weeks to get a damage estimate with a leaking roof causing damage to my room and garage. No Show.
At last, hired someone and ended up changing the whole roof since the shingles were missing and damaged.
TD Home Insurance is a waste of money and time. This is the 8th week.
I was a long-term customer and got a water leak on my natural gas tank. Originally, they said they will pay. Then they refuse, mentioning that no insurance company will pay for a slow leak. I switch companies and the new one is paying for this type of damage. I lost $5000 in repairs and also 800x7years of payment with them. Please make sure you read all reviews before going with them.
I have been trying to get a deceased person removed from my policy since Nov 2021 with no success they refused to cancel my policy tell I provide them with a copy of the deceased will as a death certificate is not good enough for them. they are also requesting that I provide them with the deed to my property as the transfer of property is not good enough. I have sent them the request over and over again in the past week and have gotten no response from them when I call to see if this info has been added to my file I get told no and to resend the info again I have emailed at least 10 times now with the same info. I have gotten attitude from the people on the phone. I don't understand why these people can not provide their own company email so things can be added ASAP when a customer needs things done right away. I have been with this company for a few years and I will be cancelling my policy with them as soon as they receive the info they say I have to keep sending. I was told if I don't provide this info that I will be charged monthly still and that if I don't pay then I get non-payment that goes against me to get insurance elsewhere. I don't recommend this company to anyone if possible avoid using this insurance company. TD INSURANCE IS THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!
Had to make a claim due to a loss assessment at my condo less than a month after moving in. When I purchased my insurance I specifically noted I wanted protection from my condo board's reserve fund in case of any type of emergency. Was assured I would be covered.
When I did make the claim, feeling good about myself for opting for the more expensive coverage and peace of mind - was told flat out that because it's a maintenance issue, it will not be covered. Even though it's a safety hazard... even though it's a common element... even though I specifically asked to be protected from this situation.
The person "helping" me, did nothing.
Awful company, awful bank, terrible services, and bad customer service.
Online quote system doesn't work properly, chat was useless, and eventually I spoke to live agents who were not helpful at answering questions. If trying to get a quote is this hard, what would it be like if one ever had to make a claim.
We had water damage on our ceiling due to frosting in the attic. They sent someone out to look at the damage. Called within 24 hours to advise me that this peril isn't covered. The adjuster told me that if my coverage was platinum or gold (rather than silver) the policy would have offered one time coverage. I asked her to review our history as I had paid for gold coverage for many years prior to but had recently changed to silver. she calls back the following day to tell me they reviewed my file and that she was mistaken...none of their policies cover this type of peril. IF THE ADJUSTER DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHATS COVERED HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW !!!! They certainly didn't have trouble collecting my premium year after year. Insurance is in my opinion is in place to be used in the event of a significant loss such as mine. There were many opportunities over the years where I could have opened claims in various situations but never did, thinking I'll probably eventually need insurance one day and will use it at that time. I went to use it and it was declined. Thanks for nothing TD Monnex... I'll go un-insured before I renew with Monnex....it's the same end result.
19 years with them and we will not be renewing with these clowns. Opened a claim after the wind storm May 22 2022 that swept across Ontario. Our home sustained serious damage. I had 4 no-shows agents and then finally a TD adjuster came on June 15. Still waiting for the claim to see the estimates of the damages. Had 2 different contractors come here and access the damages to see what TD should be covering. The damages totalled over $100K. TD wants to cover $7138. They will nickel and dime you! Don't worry TD, we have hired lawyers to deal with you. This is our first claim. Don't do any business with them!
