Hurting attitude-All State

by Blair on Mar 31, 2016
1 out of 5 stars

I had a no-fault accident. The guy who hit me from behind is also insured with Allstate. I am entitled to $1500 of loaner vehicle coverage. That comes to approximately 26 days rental vehicle (as per Allstate themselves). Allstate is denying to pay for my loaner vehicle for more than 17 days!! The worst part was the Adjuster was so abusive and made me feel as if I was cheating. It was insulting. If we take out weekends from 17 days, then what is left is 13 working days for body shop. There is hardly any body shop that repairs a damaged vehicle in 13 days guaranteed. I humbly requested her to consider my situation but just abuse from the other side...avoid Allstate if possible. My 2cents.

Pretty bad experience

by Babback on Mar 14, 2016

I signed up with Allstate because I was told how great the service is. I went in, got a great rate for a commercial vehicle usage and went on my merry way. A few months later my engine blows up and I call for service and roadside assistance. I get nothing! The car gets pulled off the road. Unfortunately soon after that I am in bed with a very painful herniated disc which is non related. Allstate calls and ask what's going on and I explained my circumstance. My insurance premium and credit gets destroyed, Literally the next day.
To recap: they didn't cover anything! Shop elsewhere and save the trouble because this company is slimy.

Terrible Customer Service

by Not Impressed on Feb 10, 2016
1 out of 5 stars

After being with a different insurance company for years, we decided to move our auto and home insurance to AllState as they had very competitive prices. After we switched the trouble began. It took weeks to receive our policy and pink slips for the cars in the mail, and because I was travelling I needed that slip so I had to travel out of my way to the AllState office to pick up the slip. A few months later a questionnaire was sent to us and at that time we decided to add my partner (who has his own car insurnace with another company) as an occassional driver as he sometimes drives my car. We provided the requested information (name and driver's licence number) and sent the form back via mail. Fast forward to now (approx. 90 days later) and it is time for our 6 month renewal. 10 days before the policy was due to expire we still have not received our renewal documents. We called to request them be sent and our representative no longer works for the company, and our policy it seems had just been forgotten about. At this time we requested to know what the cost would be and for our renewal documents to be sent immediately. Our cost increased nearly $300 from the last time we paid! All they stated was "regular cost increase." We also wanted to ensure that my boyfriend had been added on and the lady we spoke to said that would be processed right away. Several days later we received an email from the same lady requesting my boyfriend's insurance company and policy number. This information had never been requested from us before and should not have an effect on him being added as an occassional driver. We have called the office several times and left messages for this lady to call us back and we have heard nothing. It is now 3 days before our policy expires and we have switched to another provider. The customer service (or lack there of) is absolutely ridiculous. We have been given the run around for the entire 6 months we have been with AllState. I work in customer service and if myself or my staff treated customers paying the company money this poory you can be sure that we would no longer be employed with the company. I will be warning my friends, family and anyone I come in contact with to never deal with AllState and if I could have rated them a 0 I certainly would have.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

I have been with this company for over 30 years, I had a few claims over the years but none were my fault, so all was fine. After 30 years I had my first at fault accident, minor fender bender. My insurance has been increased by 80% can you believe this. Stay away.

Allstate Insurance terrible

by Mumto2 on Oct 21, 2015

Allstate is a terrible company to deal with. So terrible that I do not even want to give them a 1 star rating. The only reason I switched to them was because I was saving money on auto insurance through them. Little did I know what a terrible decision I was making. For all the consumers out there reading this review, please do not base your insurance decisions on how much money you save with an insurance company. It really is the level of service you receive when you enter into a claim. The Claims Adjustor was rude, called me a liar, and was so aggressive to deal with! This is an accident in which we are not at fault, but we are being charged with 50% of the liability because the other party lied in their statement. Allstate so far has not shown us any support. I have not felt for even a second that they are fighting for us and giving us the best possible care. They are in this business only to make money. The insurance agent that I signed through has been highly unprofessional, and will not return our calls. All in all a terrible experience. Please do not go with Allstate Insurance. You will regret it later if you do.

Awful

by importantkeurig@gmail.com on Apr 10, 2015

The customer service is awful - even though I was not found at fault, they still communicated to the other insurance agency that I was difficult to work with and there are notes on this.

Claims adjuster in Calgary should have a review of her work because it's less than exemplary - I was never properly informed on anything and had to find out EVERYTHING from the OTHER INSURANCE COMPANY who proceeded to tell me that my agent told them that I was difficult to work with.

If I'm difficult, fine, but this is ridiculous. You can make a statement about me that's negative if you performed your job adequately. I had no information to go by and had to fumble my way through the process which of course would be frustrating for another agent, I get that, but Allstate has been horrible with their service so I have zero foundation for what I was getting into.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Great until a claim is made

my vehicle was involved in a fire well driving in northern ontario, as a result the car was a wright off. After being told to stay in the area at a motel I called after two days and asked what was going and they apologize and told me that I could return home after waiting almost 2 weeks for the claim adjuster to actually process it he came back with an offer that was 75% the value of the vehicle. I called an appraiser that I knew and he confirmed with me that in fact I was being underpaid for the value of the vehicle, I spoke with the adjuster and told him this, his supervisor then called me and talked to me and said he would speak with the adjuster and get back to me. After 5 hours the adjuster got back to me and said the offer was final with no explanation. On top of this I opted out of a car rental to save money and ended up receiving $400 in total for two days rent in a motel, a bus rental and two weeks of not taking a rental which should of been an extra $25 a day. By my calculation the rental alone was $350. Anyways great company till you make a claim, but then again there in the business of making money and not giving any out!
