Intact are scammers

My car was totalled on Sept 29th and it's now Dec 11th and I still haven't received anything. On top of all, the claim adjuster refuses to reply to calls and emails. I have never seen such disregard for customer service in my lifetime. NEVER will I stick with this insurance company. Stay far far away as possible from Intact!

Very unhelpful and rude

Worst service I've ever experienced. It has now been a month since I was supposed to receive my refund check to get my car fixed and I have had no help with the person I'm working with nor his supervisor. Awful experience.

The customer service is poor!

I called to complain about why they charge payment on my account which I called right away to update my credit card before my contract will renew, the lady who answered the phone was totally rude and sarcastic. When I was talking to them on the phone to update my account last month ago, they never mention that they would charge me. Normally when my card is not working, they’re always calling me. I just received an invoice after 4 days and realized that they add the penalty. I will never renew my contract. I find I'm just paying for nothing and the representative doesn't even know how to speak nicely.

Never pay

This is not an insurance company I would recommend. I know someone who can't work because of a car accident and was supposed to get bi-weekly payments. Maybe get a cheque once a month. Was also told by intact through an email that there was a cheque issued on August 28th for back payment. No cheque. This person is going to loose everything. This company lies. Please stay away from them

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I literally cannot express this enough. This company may seem professional and attentive at first, but once you require something from them, specifically in regards to claims, they ignore emails and voice mails. I recently got in a very bad car accident with the streetcar. They took 3 weeks to call with a settlement offer, from the first week I started to email my claim representative, and to this day she still hasn't returned a phone call or email. Then I received the information for my adjuster and started emailing her and leaving voice mails asking why has it been 2 weeks without any contact. On the third week she finally calls me, disregards the fact that I have been attempting to get in contact with her for the past week, is completely disrespectful on the phone, kept saying my name wrong even when I corrected her as she spoke. 2 days later, I try to get in contact with her again to follow up on the offer as we had agreed upon, and again, she did not respond to any of my emails or voice mails, and I had to return my rental car. I proceeded to attempt to get in touch with any manager available, and again no response from anyone. 2 days passed, manager called me and acknowledged my concerns and bumped my offer and assured me that my license plates would be mailed out to me. It has been a week and I'm still to receive my plates. I didn't receive any confirmation if they were indeed picked up from their auto shop or any mailing confirmation or tracking number. I keep losing potential cars I find because of this. Again, I call and email and still no response. WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER!!! Disrespectful, Careless, Uncultured, Obscene, Impolite, Insulting, Barbarous, everything bad in the book, you name it. I'm in the process of buying a new car but i don't have my plates so commuting has been highly inconvenient because my school and my work are at two opposite ends of the GTA.

Money grab

I had auto insurance with these guys for 2 years. I finally got a chance to phone around for cheaper rates, I found an agency who gave me the same product for half the price. Intact called me to renew the policy and I told them I was going with someone else. One month later they went into my bank account and tried to withdraw money for the insurance. I called them and I got an NSF charge. I called them and they said the insurance was still in place, even after I told them I was with another company. I emailed them my new policy with details as requested by them. I put a stop payment against them and they are still trying to take money. I called emailed them half a dozen times! They keep calling demanding payment after all this. They charge way too much and it seems they now cost me more money to get away from these crooks.

Scammers

Insurance is meant for the unfortunate event of an accident. If premiums are paid coverage is expected! We had a vehicle involved in an accident that incurred $3k in damages. Car was still worth $11K. Intact chose to write the vehicle off despite the damages being very repairable! We were using there GPS modules that tracked driving habits. With these GPS units we were getting regular reports showing how the drivers in our house were doing. As for the car they wrote off! We were still receiving reports months after the car was supposed to be in the scrap yard! Seems that someone at Intact perpetrated fraud by writing the vehicle off, then buying it at scrap value and repairing it for road use.

Worst choice ever

They charge if you don't use their software! After 6 months they send me a $29 bill because I didn't use their software. Then I decided to cancel it and do not have any business with them. I paid $1259 for 12 months ahead currently still have 6+ months paid ahead. In case of cancellation, they offer me a... $7 refund. $7 refund for 6 months!!!

BE PREPARED TO GET SCAMMED

I missed a payment, called them to make a credit card payment which I had done before. They told me they no longer accept credit card payments and to go into my local insurance place to make payment. Then I went down there to make a payment and I was told I could not pay for it there but I can pay on their website. So I sent them a payment with my credit card. Then 5 days later they try and take another payment out of my account for the same payment which then I get a 45 dollars NSF fee from my bank and now they are saying I owe them a 40 NSF fee on top of the last 40 NSF fee for missing it even though I already made a payment. In total spent $180 on the NSF fee! Very unhappy with their service when you call your lucky to talk to someone that speaks understandable English.

Worst experience ever

Stay away from Intact as far as you can. This company keeps charging my parents even they switched to another Insurance company about a half year ago. Called the broker a million times but still hasn't solved the problem yet, and the manager was inpatient and bounced my phone calls and emails like a bouncy ball. How can you treat your customer like this? I would never recommend this company to anyone.
