Don’t expect a payout after an accident

My son was is a bad car accident as the passenger. This claim was in litigation for years. He was in constant pain and ended up committing suicide. I am his mother and this process was painful and unbearable. It dragged on and Intact legal finally offered just over $1,000. This is disgusting. We are forced to pay Insurance our entire lives but do not try to collect. These people are heartless and deceitful. My family and I will never use Intact again.

they refuse to serve seniors

intact is an outrageous company. It has been well over one month since we filed a claim and after speaking to 11 agents , still no response, let alone a settlement. Absolutely no service! Intact will take your money instantly, but don't expect a payment for month! will be looking for a new insurance company tomorrow. goodbye Johnsons, Belair direct, and Intact!

Intact insurance they are theft and liars.

.. not to recommend. Why? I was paying to much money for insurance and after accident I was losing my nerve, my time, my vehicle, and on the end money.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Be carefull they will find any excuse to not pay you

They will not pay my truck was stolen and almost a year later and not a dollar they are investigating every day a new something they are looking for any reason not to pay then someone tbone me in my other truck they have taken my other truck will not give back to me and they have not payed me a dollar for the second truck
They are scammers they will go to the police and try to have you charged for anything to claim excuse not to pay becarefull this company is very awful this is after being a customer for 22 years.

Stealing my money from my account

I want to give this company less than zero stars, but dont have option. I changed my insurance in May2023 from intact to some other insurance company. My current broker completed the policy to cancel my insurance from intact. Still my money (390$) got deducted from my account. I called intact insurance broker and she again sent me forms to sign to cancle the policy and again it was deducted from my account. Before leaving for India, I called that broker again and she said she will look into it and cancle it. Today is september 14,2023 when my money again got deducted. Today she told me that she is not my broker, not responsible to cancel my policy, I should call office now, my insurance is not with intact. I am in India and getting upset for this type of professionalism

The most useless insurance

I had a very anxiety-inducing experience with this company:
First of all, they work with questionable, discriminatory and rude repair shops and they will protect them before you their clients. Their customer service will lie to you to protect each other. They will tell you they will call you back in 24 hours and it becomes 48 hours and all of a sudden it becomes a week, two weeks and you name it and all this time the one who works on your file will refuse to talk to you and the rest of the customer service just keep being a barrier not to reach him.
I complained to the broker who sold me this scam of insurance and all of a sudden they say they can not do anything about it.
After my accident, they kept calling me over and over and over to repeat the same story and keep reliving the experience... I'm now preparing for a long court battle with them... They are scammy... Please save your hard-earned money and pay for insurance that is worth anything. Because if you get in an accident it is gonna be a nightmare.

The biggest scammers out there, horrible experience

Do Not Use Intact!!! I was hit by a drunk driver, and my car was ultimately written off by insurance. Not only was their settlement low, but due to a concussion I received from the accident I only was applying to be reimbursed my lost wages as I was unable to work both my jobs for a month (obviously I had doctors notes to corroborate this). After having someone come to my home to go over all the paperwork and submit my claim, saying everything was in order, I get a letter in the mail from someone I’ve never spoken to or dealt with who said my claim had been denied due to “my injuries did not substantiate my claim”. Again, despite having all the proper documentation, they said my concussion didn’t justify them paying me for only a month of lost work time. This is how Intact treats their customers, it is a terrible organization and I have nothing but ill will towards this company. 0/5 stars review is what it should read.

THINK BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

I had an M.V.A. on June 19/'23 in Pittsburgh, PA, and my vehicle is still there, WHY?
1) I still don't know where exactly where my vehicle is.
2) I don't know WHEN it'll come back to Canada.
3) After the initial estimate of damages, parts are NOT ordered yet?
4) When I will be driving my BRAND NEW (2023 HONDA CR-V) S.U.V. again?
Nothing but excuses and lies!

Shop somewhere else

As soon as you're a customer, anytime you call there they send you to speak to different people who are rude as heck. They're very friendly until they have your money and then they treat you like dirt once they do.
I opened the account here and my husband had to come on the phone and authorize me to do so under his name. All was fine. They took our payment, they let me file a claim and get our car fixed. They let me negotiate a cheaper price for one year. Never did my husband ever have to call or speak with them for anything after that first time.
Then I call to cancel the policy because they keep raising the price and this year raised the price 300$ with no explanation. I can get better coverage for 400$ less at another auto insurance. So when I tell them Im canceling they told me: "Sorry, you don't have authority on the file!" What!!!??? Because it's 15 minutes before closing time and my policy renews the next day, so they did this so that we have to pay cancellation fees.
I told them I obviously have authority because my husband had to give it in order for me to even open the policy so please speak with your supervisor and check the file for the notes. They refused and refused to request a supervisor.

Horrible customer service by claims adjustor

Currently disputing adjustors assignment of blame, 50/50. I spoke to my assigned adjuster once. Despite asking for an investigation with the evidence available, I asked my broker to contact the adjuster as well, leaving messages for a callback and speaking to other agents at intact regarding my concerns. Zero response from my assigned adjuster. The unprofessional manner in which my assigned adjuster has represented Intact. I cannot believe I'm the only client experiencing this poor quality of customer service. Just unbelievable. Why my broker switched from another company to Intact? is just baffling...
