Aviva car insurance is the absolute worst. I have had such a terrible experience with them. Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. No one is ever available to answer your questions, you get put on hold and moved from person to person. From their brokers to those handling claims, it's an all-around discouraging experience.

I've been going back and forth giving all the information asked, sometimes twice. The lady did not read emails properly until she was on the phone with me and said "oh I see it now".
Didn't put the people on the right vehicles, missed a name. Frustrating.
Don't waste your time with this company

Run as far as you can from this company. Do not waste your money... this company should get zero stars. Phoned them needing a tow. Claims representative told me my basic plan would cover the first 300 km of the tow. Anything over that and I would be responsible for it. No problem. But, without any contact at all, this rip off crew says “nope, you get the bill”. Unbelievable. The customer service representative is obviously trained to say you are covered for anything, then they just say nope after and do not honour their contract.

I didn’t listen to the reviews and that was a huge mistake. Should be zero stars. Think you’ll save money with AVIVA? You won’t. Customer service representative tells you one thing and approves you for a tow, then a year later AVIVA sends a bill saying they won’t cover it. But not to you. Nope, you’ll get your first inkling when you get a letter from a collection agency. Total rip-off company. Do not insure with them! Protect yourself from being abused. Better to have no insurance then AVIVA.

This Aviva car insurance is such a waste. I had an accident and I requested for claim. It’s been more than 4 weeks now, and they are not giving any decision on the claim. Adjuster is not answering the call and even not properly responding back to the emails. To the every single email you send them she would just send you a statement “your claim is still under review we don’t know if we are going to accept it or deny it” this is a clear mental harassment. I have my car in storage with repair shop and I have rental car with me. If you want to save your mental health don't go with Aviva.

Was provided an insurance quote for three auto policies on July 9th, 2024 that I agreed to. The auto insurance was to be effective Aug 6 at 12:01 am. On Friday, Aug 2nd (the Friday of the August long weekend) I received an email from the broker at RH Insurance, informing me that Aviva would not provide collision or liability for me son. Claims history was known to all parties.
Unless you want a company to renege on a quote, be provided such information at the last minute, I would avoid all three of the parties listed above.

Called in Aviva this morning and was given the option to text, which I chose as it’s more convenient. Was really amazed by the unprofessional team running the chat. I have been working in customer service for more than 10 years and never experienced this.
The agent responded to my text saying-
1. Please advise them to send in photos time stamped for review. Thank you for using the Auto text chat.
2. Until we receive photos from the tow service team we can not make any decisions on additional repair coverage, we apologize if this is not the answer you were looking for.

Firstly, while I was chatting the agent just shut down the conversation saying thank you for using our chat whereas I was not done yet. Secondly, was given this blunt response apologizing if it’s not the answer you were looking for, where I was just asking n raising my concern on the claim.

REALLY DISAPPOINTED AND WOULDN’T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO USE THEIR CHAT SERVICE.

The worst customer service, racist and unethical for a lack of better words. I wanted to cancel my policy they inform me they will increase. They wouldn't let me. But the can do what they want. Where is their office back in some 3rd world?

This company is not worth your time of day. Do not insure your vehicle with them. They happily take your money and provide you with little to no customer service. Communication is horrible, the adjusters have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about, they love to ignore your emails. They deny as much as possible and do not want to be accountable for anything. I have nothing good to say about this really disgusting company.

Aviva is a horrible company to deal with. Extremely slow at settling claims, unfair and unethical appraisal values. What an awful company to have to deal with.
