Poor customer service

by LOUIS CORRIVEAU on Mar 29, 2024

Belairdirect insurance.
Worst insurance company ever.
Poor customer service. They offered me 25% of what my vehicle was worth. Then left the driver who was injured in the accident without a vehicle or way to get to physical therapy.
Still waiting almost a week now for supervisor to contact us.
CHEAP RATES MEANS CHEAP SERVICE

Good luck getting through once they have your money

by DoNotUseBelairDirect on Mar 28, 2024

When I called them to get a quote I was on hold for no more than 1 minute. Now that I'm a customer, I'm lucky if I get through to them within 1 hour.
Terrible attitude when you do get through to someone from customer service, just one of the worst customer service experiences I've had from any company ever.
Not to mention my car insurance for the year with 5 years of driving experience is SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Started a claim

by Marbs on Mar 20, 2024

I had slid off the highway due to bad weather and they wouldn’t approve the amount needed to fix my car for an out of province inspection to be completed. I had paid $1000 deposit at the garage already and the insurance advisor tried to cancel my appointment with them and book with one of their approved shops without notifying me. They also refused to accept that I needed all the work done to pass an inspection, but I know from taking to the garage that it wouldn’t have made it through the inspection with after market parts/not completing all the work.

Review of Belairdirect Insurance Services

by Tiljo Thekkeparambil Antony on Mar 16, 2024
1 out of 5 stars

I recently engaged with Belairdirect for an online insurance quote, initially enticed by their attractive rates. However, upon closer examination and interaction with their customer service, my experience took a disappointing turn.

After receiving what seemed like a reasonable estimate online, I proceeded to provide my bank account details, expecting a smooth transition. However, upon contact with a customer care representative, I was informed of an additional requirement regarding training from a certified driving institute, a condition not clearly outlined on their website.

This discrepancy between the online quote and subsequent communication with the customer service team has left me dissatisfied with Belairdirect's service. The disparity in the provided information and the subsequent increase in the quote, coupled with what appears to be a false reason, raises concerns regarding transparency and integrity within their operations.

As a potential customer seeking reliable insurance services, I expected a clearer and more consistent communication process from Belairdirect. Regrettably, this experience has led me to question the reliability and trustworthiness of their services.

In conclusion, while Belairdirect may offer initially attractive quotes online, the lack of transparency and inconsistency in their communication ultimately overshadow the positive aspects, leaving me hesitant to further engage with their services.

The worst customer service

by Jodes on Feb 10, 2024
1.5 out of 5 stars

I recently needed to speak with Bel-air’s customer service because my credit card had expired, I forgot to update them with the new expiration date. I received a notice in the mail about this. And, called them immediately. They proceeded to tell me I was on notice for cancellation for non payment. I have been a customer of theirs for 10 years. This is the first time I’ve had this issue or any issue. The rep told me I’d have to pay 2 NSF fees. I protested, because it was a simple card error. Had someone called me instead of MAILING me a notice. This would have resolved immediately. The agent was rude. He claimed he’d waive one of the fees but, then had to charge me a reinstatement fee, which I argued is ridiculous because my insurance isn’t cancelled. He offered me zero extra help. When I asked to speak with a manger. He put me on hold. Then said they’d call me back… maybe in 2 days. But, he couldn’t guarantee. It’s been 4 days. No call. I don’t expect one either. I called a friend who works in insurance she informed me, they are conducting unethical practice by charging 2 NSF fees. I have paid everything they wanted because I can’t have a cancellation due to non payment and I’m moving all my insurance needs to another provider. Bel-Air’s slightly lower rates = the worst customer service.

I’ve already moved my home insurance from them after a horrible experience when I needed help from them. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Some of the agents are super incompetent and they straight up lie regarding the policy and the pricing. I had a terrible experience with them and I'm never going back

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Really Bad Experience

by Ross Scott on Nov 30, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

The quote they give you online is not even close to the actual amount. You need to call them and go through the whole process again and my quote was almost $100 more per month with little to no changes in my information. They also don't let you view the quote you got online ever again even when you ask for it.

Please don't waste your time with these people like I did. The overall review rating on this page says it all!

Terrible Customer service experience.

by Robby on May 13, 2023

I was talking to an agent named Chander and was treated poorly by him. I was inquiring about my insurance renewal and he told me that inflation affects rates but I said, we the customers are also affected by inflation but how can you, Belair, help us with it? He said he didn’t appreciate talking to me. I think that it is valid for customers to ask questions out of curiosity but maybe due to the lack of his knowledge or training, he could not provide me with a sufficient answer. I was very disappointed and hung up immediately. This isn’t the first time this is happening. I’ve dealt with this many times and it surprises me because I have multi-car and home insurance and have been with Belair for 4-5 years. There are so many gaps in the service they provide to customers, sometimes that the calls last for about 2 hours because they don’t know what to do.
