Review of Belairdirect Insurance Services

1 out of 5 stars
I was in an accident and they said I would go to a zero star rating and the toral cost to insure would be $285. Then when I went to cancel they told me I would be at a 5 star rating and I have built in accedent forgiveness. They told me the cost of my new car would be about $170. Now that the year is up they said they would charge me $285 to insure my car and that was a 5 star rating. Clearly they are charging a zero star rating price. When I check other car insurance quotes. Someone with a 5 star rating would pay about $158.
The quote they give you online is not even close to the actual amount. You need to call them and go through the whole process again and my quote was almost $100 more per month with little to no changes in my information. They also don't let you view the quote you got online ever again even when you ask for it.
Please don't waste your time with these people like I did. The overall review rating on this page says it all!
The costumer service seems completely lost in their own system. The system always seems down and not working. Don't trust the quotes offered online, when its time to confirm it, it will go up at least 30%. Very bad experience on my end.
I've had auto insurance since 2015. Almost every auto insurer in Canada has contacted me. Unfortunately, I have contacted Belairdirect this year for renewal. I wasted my time thinking Belairdirect was cheap. Belairdirect appears to have no regard for its customers. I believe that these strategies are employed with clients who fail to conduct adequate research and follow-up. I've only had stress since working with them for the reasons listed below.
1. The auto premium was raised by $330 (18.21%): When I spoke with Certified Insurance Agent, I forgot to mention that I had a one-month auto insurance gap; later, they discovered it and raised the premium by $330 (18.21%) from the finalized premium amount with Certified Insurance Agent, which is unjustifiable.
2. Policy coverage and premium details were NOT provided in writing via email: Belair is aware that oral testimony about policy coverage and premiums is inadmissible. As a result, Belair dislikes providing detailed policy coverage and premium information by email in written format, as other insurance agents and brokers do, so that customers have written proof for future reference.
3. Different Premium Amount: After receiving an online auto quote, I spoke with three different Certified Insurance Agents. However, they provided me with a different premium for the same coverages and deductions. I believe that regardless of the number of certified insurance agents involved in the quote, the premium amount for the same coverage and deductions should be the same.
BAIT & SWITCH
I did an online quote with Belairdirect for car insurance. I got a rate of $117.33 per month and email confirmation of this rate. Then I called them today (spoke with JS) to ask one question and proceed... EVERYTHING was verified and the info I gave them over the phone 100% the same as I put in when getting a quote online. However, they told me the rate would actually be $156 per month???? I FIND THIS EXTREMELY DISHONEST!!
BEWARE!!!
I filled out the online form to buy car insurance today
and when I finished gave me a quote quickly. When I called to confirm and buy a telephone operator could hardly speak English and I am fluently bilingual.
She said she had to ask the same questions again and the date she had told me for a claim I reported more than 4 years ago was somehow wrong according to her but it wasn't on the form I filled out an hour earlier so she said based on changing the date of that claim my premium would increase by $47 per month WHAT A JOKE AND POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER HAD
I went through the online process to get a quote, no issues found (no accidents, no changes for years etc) even got to the "get your quote" button. However, as soon as you hit that button you are told you have to contact a representative for a quote. Hit the chat option and was told by the person chatting that I have to call the 800 number for a quote but not to worry because "you will still get the online discount by calling" So typical... just another waste of time trying to get an estimated quote... don't bother trying online for a "quick quote". Also, since giving them my email address they contact me all the time for garbage.... still have not been able to get off the mailing list!
BEWARE! Your actual auto insurance quote will most likely be nowhere near the amount that you will be quoted online. Part of the increase they attribute to items not being included in the online quote (really), even though they were certainly selected, and the rest of the difference they even have to audacity to say that there much have been some kind of a one-time online glitch in the system. Glitch? Really? I tried several times and got the same number online each time. The fact of the matter is that they simply low-ball the online quote in order to get you to call, and then totally ignore what the online quote actually was. Call that what you like, but I call that fraud.

I recently engaged with Belairdirect for an online insurance quote, initially enticed by their attractive rates. However, upon closer examination and interaction with their customer service, my experience took a disappointing turn.
After receiving what seemed like a reasonable estimate online, I proceeded to provide my bank account details, expecting a smooth transition. However, upon contact with a customer care representative, I was informed of an additional requirement regarding training from a certified driving institute, a condition not clearly outlined on their website.
This discrepancy between the online quote and subsequent communication with the customer service team has left me dissatisfied with Belairdirect's service. The disparity in the provided information and the subsequent increase in the quote, coupled with what appears to be a false reason, raises concerns regarding transparency and integrity within their operations.
As a potential customer seeking reliable insurance services, I expected a clearer and more consistent communication process from Belairdirect. Regrettably, this experience has led me to question the reliability and trustworthiness of their services.
In conclusion, while Belairdirect may offer initially attractive quotes online, the lack of transparency and inconsistency in their communication ultimately overshadow the positive aspects, leaving me hesitant to further engage with their services.
