I called to pay my NSF, was told my policy was canceled due to none payments. I paid my NSF, was told I could open another policy. They wanted full amount over $2000 I had only 1 cancelation. I've been a good driver for 30yrs, no tickets. The agent told me I had 2 cancelation after he put his company in which I paid amount owing $215. I was canceled for literally $215 didn't give me a chance to explain. He stated I won't find anyone cheaper or do monthly, he was wrong. I found another company cheaper & did monthly. This Company are liars.
Can't get a hold of ANYONE to change my address. Literally was on hold for 2 HOURS and nobody picked up..
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Waiting time is too long to get in contact with an agent, just to cancel my policy.
Agents keep redirecting me to different people to solve the same problem.
Somebody intentionally dinged my driver's side door while I was parked. Filed a claim on Nov. 4th, 2021. Today Feb. 24th, after countless texts, calls and emails, their claims adjuster has still not authorized repair to my car. It's a car door! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Their rates are competitive because there is no service on the back end. Do yourself a favour and avoid Belairdirect. Cancelling my policies asap!
A driver rear-ended my car in September last year resulting in fairly minor damage. The claims process with Belair seemed smooth and friendly at first. The only issues were the website and mobile app often returning an error message or no info on my claim, but I was able to get help over the phone.
It's now January and I'm still waiting for my car to be fixed. I had the last update in November when the body shop called me to confirm I want to move forward and have them order the parts. Since then I've been waiting for them to call me back, and nothing. I called them myself today and found out they'd got an update from Belair in December claiming I'd decided to take the car somewhere else, and so they cancelled the whole order. I never did that though so now I'm waiting on Belair, who I can't get through to by phone, to explain to me what's happened. Meanwhile luckily at least the body shop says they'll restart the process to order the parts to help me out. I am extremely frustrated at this point.
One month ago deer damage the car. Belairedirect Canada takes a week to figure out what they were going to do. Another week to get it to the shop for repairs where it sits for nearly two weeks. Why you ask is it sitting? No parts? Too Busy? Buried in the snow? Nope, none of those. The claims adjuster hasn't contacted them to let them know to fix it! THE BALL DROPPED BIG TIME! I only found out when the repair shop called me to ask why the car was at their shop.
Let the fun continue, I call Belairedirect Canada and sit on the line with their claims department not answering the phone "for EVER"! Give up and call the regular folks and get a very nice lady who understood my frustration (there is a really nice place reserved for her in heaven) and helped me get in touch with the less than effective claims adjuster.
Meanwhile, nearly a month has passed since the deer passed and the vehicle is exactly as it was when that happened. Poor Bambi.
Not sure if I can draw any company-wide conclusions, but I can say I hope your experience is better. Good luck
If it were not for the nice lady in the regular customer service I would rate my experience as negative.
THEY CHARGE A HUGE CANCELLATION FEE and they won't tell you about it when you sign up. I asked them how cancellation works and they completely omitted the conversation about the cancellation fee. You shouldn't choose Belairdirect if you plan on insuring your car for less than a year.
We requested a quote and they were one of the lowest in the industry but the agent conveniently neglected to warn us of an annual interest rate of 3.39% on monthly payments. We were 2 payments in and checked the billing online to notice the additional interest fee but they refused to reimburse us. We were able to pay off the rest of the term in full and save ourselves the additional fee. Agent on the line claimed monthly interest was industry standard. We don't recall ever having to pay interest for monthly payments but we are rid of it now and got some points on our credit card for the one-time payment too.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I went to the garage today for changing my windshield and I had a big surprise.
I have the insurance for the replacement but the guy at the customer service told me that I have also restriction no 3, nobody talks to me about this when I took my insurance.
Restriction no 3 is they will pay for my windshield if I received a plane or a part of a plane into it, explosion, thunder, hail, fire, riots, earthquake, wind storm but if I receive a rock in my windshield they don’t pay.
I understand that if a reactor falling from the sky on my car and broke my windshield I go directly to the store buying a loto... if I am still alive.
They should explain this to me when I took the insurance, cheaper but I have to pay 550$, the word for this is fraud.

My son has moved out of the country, so I want to remove him from the auto policy coverage. However, removing a driver is not feasible through Belair Direct's website or their phone app. I need to call their Customer Service. Well, it's been a week now that I've been trying every day at a different time, hoping to be answered and get this done and over with. And every time I called, I waited for (give or take) an hour before abandoning the call. I'm writing this review while listening to that boring on-hold music. Their rate may be competitive, but based on this experience alone, I may look around at renewal time.
