After the agent's help told my wife who is 65 she was too stupid and old to understand insurance. We decided to switch companies. I switch on the university date of when the original policies were taken out. Unknown to me and never checked after our old agent retired the new agent split the autos insurance into two policies and staggered them 6 months apart. As the agent sent out pink slips good for 6 months at a time I should have read policies but did not. The new insurance is $675.00 a year the agents' cancellation fees for the one auto they changed the policy date on was $422.00. I hope the agent Julia R has a good time with the monies from seniors who have a combined income of $30,000.00 a year.
They didn't do anything after I submit a claim. Very bad Experience to deal with them.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I had an accident (not my fault) they just repaired the fender and ignored the bumper and headlight saying it was not affected according to them they are not attached together. My claim was in process for 7months (a waste of time). For the light, they said it was before because there is dust in there ( 7 months what do you expect inside a Christmas gift) and without even notifying me they increased the insurance by 15 $ a month!
Wanted to give 0 but can’t...
Stay away from them! Stay safe!
I switched to Desjardins a few years ago for auto and home insurance cut my insurance by hundreds. I had my car stolen and from the agent to the adjuster, they all were polite and very helpful and resolved pretty quick, my agent is always very helpful when I call.
I hit a deer 4 months ago, they send you to multiple suppliers stall and delay, never respond to messages. I finally took it into a body shop I choose they won't respond to them either. If you're with the Desjardins, cancel and go elsewhere before you have a claim and if you're shopping around keep looking price might be good coverage certainly isn't.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
My car was rear-ended and there was quite a lot of damage to the back. Even after some time contacting the insurance, and extensive damage to the van, my insurance sent me to a very reputable garage in my area and covered all costs.
I am very happy with my insurance agent. Any time I require documents or have questions, I can send an email and get an immediate response.
My car got stolen and turned out to be a write-off.
The claim advisor I was dealing with was not helpful nor on my side for things.
She would only EMAIL me after hours and would not return or answer any of my calls or questions.
Then they go on to quote my car low as can be and then tell me I can only use their two websites as comparables and denied most of my findings.
They did not make a stressful situation easier.
Customer service was great to deal with however the claims advisor and adjuster were a huge disappointment.
Communication is key. I never missed one payment for the 3 yrs I was insured with this company & in the end, they lost a loyal customer.
After a no-fault accident, things went really well to the point where the body shop manager was surprised how well it was going as they were going to repair my car.
There was quite a delay due to parts not coming in and once repaired they realized that the harness wires had burned through and decided to write the car off.
That's where things started to unravel and it would take a couple of pages to explain what went on after that point.
Our claims advisor was nowhere to be found, nobody in the company knew where she was and why she wasn't getting back to us. When I talked to maybe the 10th person over a week's time, she tried to find out what happened to her claims advisor by contacting the claims advisors manager but could not get a hold of them either.
I found a number with DesJardins that was your last straw phone number that looks into the situation and tries to help you. Had to leave a message there also and no one ever got back to me.
I believe people working from home is a huge part of this problem but this company is so unorganized it's very hard to believe any company can run like this.
I am retired so the time is there to make at least 20 phone calls over a two-week timeframe and still no answers. Imagine somebody that is working full-time and has a busy life, the nightmare would be much worse than what I have now through.
They’ll increase your insurance every year they don’t care about your clean driving records they’ll always increase. 3 year with them paid over 15 thousand dollars for nothing.
Worst insurance providers ever. I would give negative stars if I could.
They charge more than your monthly insurance rate as they withdraw your payments as they please on different days each month
