BE AWARE! If you live in a mobile home. To be covered by insurance you have to climb under your home EVERY DAY because if you don’t catch a leak within 24-48 hours they WILL NOT cover you!!!
It has been: 49 days since the loss 24 days since the claim was APPROVED. No estimates. No repairs. Brutal response times.
Got a call from a collections agency today. Turns out TD cancelled my insurance several months ago, made very little (if any) effort to contact me, charged me $218 for something, perhaps a cancellation fee, but the agent didn't even know. I didn't know anything was wrong until I got calls from the collections agency. This on top of having to wait 1 1/2 hours on hold. Asked them where they sent the letters, they had the right address but didn't include the unit number, so I never got them. Thankfully nothing went wrong while I was unknowingly uninsured.
I recently purchased home insurance and paid the annual amount in full. About a month later I received a phone call saying that I had an outstanding balance. The person that called couldn’t provide any details so I had to call TD. After numerous attempts to reach someone (dropped calls due to their poor phone connection, waiting on hold for over an hour each time I called) I was finally able to speak to someone. They gave me a reason as to why I had a balance that didn’t make sense. Long story short, each time I spoke to someone regarding the balance I got a different story as to why I still owed them money. On top of that, they were charging me interest on the outstanding amount. TD has been my insurance provider for years, but I no longer trust their practices
TD insurance did not anything regarding an unexplainable home insurance increase of 100%. Despicable company
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
My building policy was changed, I tried to call TD insurance and get a hold of them. However, I have had the most frustrating call experience. On the first day, I was on the call for 1.5 hours and they hung up on me. On the second day, I was on the phone again for 1 hour and no result again. On the third day, I was on the phone for nearly 2 hours and no response again. So, I tried to call TD bank instead and complain about my experience. They finally transferred me to an agent and the agent told me she will call me in 24-48 hours with a new quote. A week is passed and no one called me. So, I tried their online chat this time. I was waiting for 1.5 hours until it is my turn and the agent told me he cannot get access to my account unless I am registered via MyInsurance. I tried to register and faced an error that you need to call this toll free number I have been calling for the past few days. The agent basically refused to help me and referred me to the call that none responded. I honestly want to cancel my insurance and there is no way to get a hold of someone to at least cancel the insurance. Worst insurance ever...
TD Insurance has decided not to insure properties under construction due to COVID-19. I asked, but nobody was able to give me an answer as to how a virus can cause damage to a residence. I've been with TD Insurance for my home and vehicles for 9 years. My property went under construction during COVID-19. I tried to change my policy due to the construction that is underway (and stalled). They told me they cannot provide insurance due to the virus. DO NOT CHOOSE TD insurance.... they will take your money, but when you need them, they say "we can't help you"...
This insurance company sets up anyway and every way to charge their clients. If you work on computer at home, they add an amount $. At the end of the year of your payment, if you want to cancel your policy, they charge you as well, almost $100, even in a very bad situation like coronavirus pandemic when my own bank reduced interest on all their products. If you are looking for home insurance, make more phone calls and find someone else.
They miscommunicated that we wanted the restoration companies to clean everything, ended up paying over $12,000 out of pocket for the accidental restoration of broken/non-fitting items. Wouldn’t get callbacks for WEEKS, dealt with over 30 people trying to get things fixed or done. Went through three main adjusters, one let go for incompetence, another had a job change in the middle and the last wrote off all usable clothing instead of provided list I made myself of actual losses. I lost all of my sentimental things that were fine due to this with an unreasonable (CRDN) company. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. Sold us a policy when I asked for $50,000 EXTRA coverage for jewellery ok top of the $79,000 content, they charged me $200 more (on top of $400, 50% more) and made $50,000 out of $79,000 for jewellery. Lost so much due to this clerical error but they would not take responsibility. After a review of the call, they admitted it was a miscommunication on their end but did not fix it. I called for another quote and they told me the same thing! Tried to sell me the same package with incorrect info! I have recordings of all of the misinformation from CRDN and TD and intend on getting some money back from CRDN. Two companies mistakes I had to pay for. Please do not deal with these guys!

We moved to a much smaller less valuable house and my insurance went from 148 a month to 353 a month, and they could not tell me why. One agent said, "maybe it is your location"? I have tried to get through to TD as well - I have been on hold for 1.5 hours now and have still not spoken to anyone. Marvellous customer service for sure...
