All I did was change my bank acct information. I closed the acct my personal property insurance was with and I called the company and gave all my new banking information a month in advance. I receive a registered letter stating my policy is cancelled because one payment was missed. That totally changed my mind about staying with wawanesa when my policy is up for renewal.
had hail last week , next door neighbour is insured as well as i with wawanesa insurance, they send out their own employee to give an unbiased opinion, nope no hail damage, when asked if anyone of their clients had hail, response was nope, other neighbours are in the process of having shingles replaced by their insurancce company's, but no one with wawanesa is. I have had 6 different roofing company's come over and all claim definate hail damage, wawanesa's response is ,of course they are going to say that, they want the job,
They also refuse to sign a statement , stating that the integrity of my shingles has not been comprimised in any way by the hail
Well bye bye wawanesa after i win and get my shingles replaced, see you in court if need be.
Local agent kept us up to date on new policies.
Wawanesa appears to be a good company to deal with although their rates seem to be escalating lately.
I was pleased to come up with less expensive insurance for an old pick-up truck that I had plus my home insurance is less expensive than my last insurer. I would really like it if one could buy house insurance without contents coverage or a different deductible on house contents. If all I have in my home is a bed & a couch & a few dishes, why do I have to pay for mandatory coverage totally in excess of what I have??
Canadians pay, on average, approximately $20 per month in tenants insurance. Do you rent or plan to rent a property and want to reduce insurance costs? We will help you get a cheap tenant insurance quote today.
Wawanesa made me feel like the perpetrator instead of the victim. Argumentative.
nothing to complain about. Fairly average service
we have not had any claims but the billing seems fair and prompt. I have phoned the claim center looking for coverage information and they were helpful and friendly.
Rates were competitive, but I feel all the insurer's rates are too high.

This is the second year with insurance. We had a fire and lost all of our personal belongings! The reason why I bought insurance was that our apartment came with newly furnished belongings. I did not expect to lose our belongings in a fire the following year so I bought another hear after the fire. I submitted our claim in June 2020 and the agent has not returned any of my emails, has not called me back. I'm very disappointed as she told me she is looking into an offer and will get back to me in July and had not bothered to respond since then. It would be nice to get a response and an email back but unfortunately, nothing has been sent in response to my email.
