Nightmare

In 2016 a driver was texting, ran a red light at 65mph and hit me on my driver side. The drivers' insurance was through Allstate. Allstate reset every hearing we had for over 2 years. This cost me thousands in lost wages and even more in the growing medical debt that THEY made me accrue. Countless MRIs, CAT scans, and x-rays (each time I brought in medical docs and imagery that they requested they denied it and had me find another specialist for different docs) From what I was told by legal team, they do this when their client is 100% dead to rights liable for everything. When we finally did get in the same room, they treated me like a child. They refused to pull the driver's phone records and denied my bodily injury claim because there was no blood. They didn't take me seriously at all, instead they acted like a typical insecure man with a bruised ego. All I initially requested was for them to pay the ER bills and other medical debt, which started around 40k and grew over 180k after all the additional visits. I also asked for a new vehicle ( I didn't ask for the loss of my totaled vehicle as I was taking the honest route and utilized my gap insurance-which ended in a class action against Wells Fargo) and lastly a feasible settlement to cover the 6 weeks I lost following the wreck, the debt I accrued from reset court dates, and a negotiable amount for the future rehab and doctor visits for my lifelong injuries, until I could manage on my own. They said no, we'll give you 14k. Mind you, me and the other driver had full coverage and our min liability was 60+k. I demanded a grand jury. If anyone with at least one brain cell looked the case, they'd rule in my favor. The next time we met, they told me they spoke to the prosecutor (or whoever) and the deal was that since I demanded a grand jury they had the option to offer their minimum payout which voided my right to a trial. After about an hour of talking to brick walls in suits, they made me sign the agreement for 20~k. Luckily my lawyer reduced her fee, so I left with 18k. I was never able to pay my medical debt. I still can't afford physical therapy, doctor visits, or insurance. I used the money sparingly to keep my head over water... Then 2020 happened. I was not allowed to work, and I didn't make enough to qualify for govt compensation because of how little I made in the previous years due to battling Allstate. I'm currently working with a credit team to help reduce the 17k of debt I have. I'm only 32, the only support I have is my wife, who unfortunately has to watch me suffer through daily pain and can't do a thing about it. Allstate could have handled this with at least one modicum of morality, humanity, or logic, but instead chose to turn a 25-year-old into a broken old man. I also suffer from depression and manic bipolarism which has spiked since the accident. They took so much from me. I was a victim of an irresponsible driver, backed by a greedy company who belittled me, unnecessarily attacked me, and left me feeling stripped of my rights and freedoms. The only peace I get is knowing that the soulless people who were involved in my case will eventually get their karma. I know this review won't make any difference, but I hope that more people like me with step up and share their story. Also, next time you get in a wreck, make sure you bloody yourself up real good, or it doesn't matter.
On July 3rd a driver of a vehicle ran a red light and hit the vehicle that my friend owned and is insured through Allstate. The police just happened to be there, everything is on video, so there is not a question of fault. However, I left numerous messages, and it is now July 30th AND NOT A PERSON HAS CONTACTED ME!!! On one of my calls in to request being called, the intake employee told me since I was a passenger, I complicated his report. Meanwhile, I am injured, in physio, and even my physiotherapist is being ignored. My condo is insured through ALLSTATE but will not be renewed next month. How could I trust them to react if anything goes wrong with my place.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Worst service ever. Would never deal with them again. They have a bad rating for a reason. Never ever helped. Always got your money and told you to call the main line to sit on hold forever. DO NOT USE THEM.
Was looking for car insurance that fit my low risk, long driving record. At this time, everything is going up.
Was referred to Allstate by an existing customer and did the online quote. Was only cheaper by a few dollars, so never did anything with it.
A representative from the Allstate called me and got me a better deal than quoted. Very friendly and professional. Talked me through their process and I would recommend it for all your car needs.
I had an auto insurance policy through Allstate, and didn’t have any issues! Other than the fact that I submitted a void cheque way before my payment was due to come out and was told it was updated. They then still proceeded to take the payment out of the wrong account. I emailed a broker that I have been talking to and helped me start my policy, and was told that it was updated, and they would try to take it out again. They took the payment out of the wrong account for a second time, leading to my auto policy now being cancelled unless I come up with the full amount. Long story short, I am being cancelled for something that is not the fault of my own. Be cautious with this company as a cancellation can affect your chances of getting low rates/monthly payments. Very disappointed as I was not apologized to, but yet punished for something that isn’t my fault.
I have been waiting for a refund check of $660.75 as I cancelled my policy on April 23, 2024…. Agent forgot to cancel, so my money was withdrawn on April 27, 2024. I’ve been trying to get my money back since May 6 was told it took 15 business days for a payment to clear… lies! Automation payments don’t take 15 days to clear. Called Allstate again May 10, check has been issued and is in the mail… called May 16 they blamed Canada post, was also told that same day by someone else I’d have my check by May 22…. Guess what, still no check! I called as soon as I got home from work and was on hold for 35 minutes listening to bullshit about how important their clients are! So important, they can’t answer a call… or send the money they owe clients! Definitely would not recommend. I left Allstate as my insurance increased by $111.00 a month, no home or auto claims ever! Apparently because of my postal code, the rates went up. They are lying to me about my money and I this company does not care one bit about their clients!
The cancelled my insurance as for the first time in my life at age 65 I had two minor collision, first one did not even claim at all.
They had my credit card, without contacting me first, they send $153 for collection company that I had no clue, and they did not have courtesy to ask me first to pay the balance.
Customer service horrible.
I made a huge mistake because of a friend who was working in Allstate, I switched.
Please stay away from this company, so unprofessional and no service.
I had a pleasure of having a great rep help me on my insurance, and he has been reliable & helps me find the best service to support my needs.
I would keep coming back to him to get my insurance needs met.
Thank you for your hard work.
TD has atrocious customer service. They misquoted me and did not add a driver on our policy for Home and Auto.
The difference was over $300. They indicated that we had only given them one driver. That is impossible, especially after I spent over an hour each time with 2 reps, the first one quoted and the 2nd person finalized it, each time they were the same quote.
I find it extraordinarily hard to believe that we would not mention a second driver on one of our vehicles.
I spoke to multiple managers and since December have been chasing them.
They even stooped as low as saying that they called us back and indicated to us that they mentioned we never added the additional driver.
Absolute Lies! They never called us. I will continue to go after this as we will not be lied and manipulated because your reps on the phone are all young and have no experience by the looks of things. English was not their first language, so for TD to not give us the benefit of the doubt and continually lie, this is will going to a lawyer and will continue informing the public of TD's lack of service, unprofessionalism, corruption, and fraud.
Everyone should know the level of disservice they provide.
